DiETiNG!!!?
Q. I started my first diet on Sunday (Tuesday now) & I've lost 400grams (0.88pounds)! Im so excited! I would love to hear about what everyone else out there is doing to lose weight? Wether its worked or not? Why you think it works? How your regulating calories? Your exercise regime? What size you are now? What you want to be? etc etc! xo Just a response to weightloss_guru. Your generic answer (which Im sure is helpful to SOME) has absolutely nothing to do with my question. Stop point scamming.

A. you have to eat a balanced amount of carb, fats, and proteins in every meal. try to eat organic. at least whole foods (not the store) but natural foods. don't eat a whole lot but don't starve yourself. eliminate all refined carbohydrates. this will help raise your metabolism and just keep getting daily exercise. i am at this very moment writing a very large research paper on metabolism. i've interview lots of nutritionists and personal trainers.

A. Maybe it would help you if you didn't look at things as "diet foods". When you want to eat something (which you should do often, like every 2-3 hours), think to yourself - what benefit am I getting from this? So instead of thinking of things you CAN'T eat b/c you're trying to firm up, try thinking of what you CAN eat to help you. What you do eat is much more important that what you don't eat. And the little things do add up. For example - try a small handful of nuts, but remember to get them without salt. No need for that extra sodium. And drink TONS of water. I know it sounds very cliche, but once you get into a habit of really staying hydrated, you realize how much better you feel. Oh, and fresh, raw veggies are great. Just… [cont.]

A. Hi Jessica, Have you ever wondered how a celebrity can keep such a nice and tight body? Do you think they are just born that way and they are just a special person to look that good? Part of it is airbrushing in pictures and different camera angles on television, but a lot of it has to do with the way they diet. There is such a thing as the master cleanser diet and it is one of hollywoods secrets. Here is what you can expect from the master cleanser diet. 1. You will gain more energy than you ever though possible You are going to get a huge burst of energy and more daily energy if you do a cleaning diet. This is due to all the toxins you will be flushing out of your body and all the garbage that will no longer be clogging up your colon.… [cont.]

A. you dont really need to diet, just eat a little less. also try cardio to burn fat. run fast for say 4x200m to get rid of the glycogen from the muscles, and get all the other bonuses HIIT training gives, after that do slow cardio for 30 minutes, or upto 50 mintues for fat loss. you can also swim, that works as well. . also muscles will burn more fat than cardio in the long run,(long run being the other 23 hours of the day) so build some muscles. if you dont have any equipment, do push-ups, crunches, oblique twists, reverse curls, squats. if you have access to dumbells, do bicep curls at least, you can use them for jsut about everything., if you have access to a gym ask someone who knows what their doing, or a trainer, they'll prolly… [cont.]

How do you make your metabolism go back to normal after dieting?
Q. I heard that when you diet your metabolism goes down because your body is slightly starving. How do you make it go back up after dieting? And how do you not exercise as often or as hardcore and eat normal and not gain weight without being on a permanent diet?

A. Unless you drastically restrict calories for a very long period of time, no permanent damage is done to your metabolism. I challenge anyone to dig up a study to prove otherwise. That said, get a post-diet sluggish metabolism back on track while increasing calories, you should slowly add calories into your diet over the course of a few weeks, while increasing your exercise levels. Keep an eye on the scale and on your measurements. The idea is to keep increasing calories while staying at the same weight. You will be increasing the rate of tissue turnover (read:metabolism) through all the exercise, while getting your body accustomed to a much higher food intake. After you have maxed out your exercise (6-8 hours a week), cut back on… [cont.]

How can i lose weight if dieting and excersising isnt working?
Q. Ive tried so many dieting techniques, some im not proud of, and i can't seem to lose weight. Im 16 and i do 4 hours of excersise at school a week, and 2 hours out of school. Help!

A. Your biggest problem without a doubt is that you're completely overtraining! By working out 2-3 hrs/day about 5 days a week, you're body is screaming for precious recovery time and has most likely severely plateaued. Your body absolutely needs quality time to recover from intense workouts and without this, it will simply start shutting down. I highly recommend cutting back on your training and focusing on only 1 hour of intense training per day for a maximum of 4 days a week. Its great to break up your 1 hour training routine into 30 minutes of high intensity weight training and finishing off with 30 minutes of high intensity cardio training. Push each weight training set to positive failure and really work your muscles. Once your weight… [cont.]

What are some ways to break a dieting plateau?
Q. I am failry muscular but also put on weight quickly. I have a history of working out, eating a lot, and dieting to get back down to decent weight. I have a normal 20 pound range through the year and whenever I get near the top, I get more serious about cutting back and can get back down. My problem is that I can never get beyond my lowpoint no matter how hard I try. What can I do to break through this plateau?

A. it is impossible to loose weight without a diet that is a fact. However by diet i do not think about those unhealthy pills or too less food or eat only vegetables etc. All you need to do is eat healthy and have at least 4 meals a day. You should be having 5-6 but 4 is also good. And a tip: If you eat slowly you usually eat less food cause you stop being hungry much sooner. Don't rush and eat fast. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruit. When it comes to meat i suggest meat that is not specially prepared. I Suggest white meat from the chicken and turkey. Also if you eat too less food you won't loose weight but you WILL feel tired. If you already workout this shouldn't be a problem. Oh and also... you MUST eat breakfast. A. Don't think of it as dieting first off. Think of it as a lifestyle change because if you want to get the weight off and keep it off you have to be willing to change forever. I found that cutting my fat down to 35 grams a day and calories to about 1500-1600 has made a big difference. Once you hit your goal weight bump it back up to between 60-65 grams of fat and your calories between 2000-2500 depending on how active you are. Also being very active has helped too. Activities you could do with the kids would be to go for walks to the park or go swimming since summer is almost here. Get out and run with them. Also I joined the Y and go work out whenever I can. I had one years ago and its very costly..She charged me by the hour.. This was 6 years ago and i paid 75.00 an hour for exercise and diet tips she provided..She came to my home..It may be cheaper if you go to them..Good Luck.. Bali offers a free diet plan don't they? I am sure they do so u may want to ask.. And they will give you exercise tips also for free..Just ask..You have nothing to lose and it will save you money...

How much should I spend on clothes while dieting?
Q. I'm in the process of losing about 20lbs. I feel like I'm wasting $ if I buy any pricey clothes cause they're not going to fit once I lose weight. I still buy shoes, bags, etc. I know I'll still need clothes till then but I try to only buy cheaper clothes like forever 21, ross, target etc. Does n e one else do this while they're dieting?

How to tell my friend she needs to stop dieting?
Q. A friend of mine has been dieting for a year now and we haven't seen her eat any carbohydrates for breakfast or lunch since then. Two weeks ago, she drew a mark on to her arm (with a pen, not that important) and the mark still hasn't vanished yet. Her skin looks very pale and unhealthy. She's very touchy about the subject of weight. How would you suggest us to get her to eat properly again?

A. You don't say how old this person is. If she's an adult, then presumably nobody's in a position to drag her to the doctor. She's obviously suffering from anorexia nervosa, which is a mental illness. She is likely to be admitted to hospital if this goes on. Most of us would want to avoid such an eventuality if we could. The problem is, while you see someone ill and scrawny, she sees someone quite plump when she looks in the mirror and she can't understand why you're fussing so much. Perhaps you need to lure someone in the medical profession to see her if she is not willing to seek advice herself. I once worked with a male suffering from this disorder (it's mainly females) and he looked like a little old man, although he was middle aged.… [cont.]
