A crash diet is a diet which is extreme in its nutritional deprivations, typically severely restricting calorie intake. It is meant to achieve rapid weight loss and may differ from outright starvation only slightly. They are not meant to last for long periods of time, at most a few weeks. Importantly, the term specifically implies a lack of concern for proper nutrition. Now contrary to the belief of many who start this diet, this form of dieting is neither healthy nor successful in achieving weight loss. While some weight might be lost, this weight is usually gained back very quickly in the weeks that follow this diet. But on the other side, the weight will stay off if one exercises and maintains a proper diet afterwards, and watches their fat calorie intake after stopping the diet. From Wikipedia under the

Try going back to normal and starting from scratch with a healthy lifestyle you can maintain. Does it work for permanent fat loss? No acai berry suggestions please. Asked by mm - Fri Apr 23 04:22:11 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. It can facilitate quick body fat reduction if done properly but only permanent changes to your diet will be sustainable. In other words once you reach your goal body fat percentage you need to adjust your intake to match your body weight. The only reason in theory people cycle their caloric intake is to avoid the eventual metabolic slow down that occurs on highly restrictive diets. Athletes do basically the same thing in reverse by increasing the amount they eat on days they train to avoid running into a calorie deficit. Answered by lb_300 - Fri Apr 23 06:06:31 2010 Good crash diet to lose weight in 2 weeks?
Q. I really want to lose a couple pounds in 2 weeks for my softball banquet at a water park. Its not that I'm overweight or anything I just could look better after losing a couple pounds. I know crash diets are bad but I just want to look decent in a bathing suit for this one day. I'll resume my normal eating habits afterwards. Anyone have any good ideas? Asked by T Mac - Tue May 5 18:55:15 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Nope, there's no such thing as a good crash diet. If you are worried about your looks, even for one day, perhaps you should change your "normal eating habits" to something healthier, so you can feel better every single day.
